Hemstitching is a technique that has been around for decades, originally found in women's clothing or fine linens as a decorative stitch. This machine-made stitch forms small, bound buttonholes in fabric. It is often used today, along a fabric edge, to easily allow you to crochet beautiful personalized edges in such things as baby blankets or pillowcases.
