Hemstitching

Hemstitching

I will hemstitch your own fabric at the price of $1.25 per yard. Call me at 801-300-1436 or email at hemstitching@gmail.com.

How to Prepare your Fabric for Hemstitching
Iron fabric to reduce wrinkles.

Put the two pieces of fabric, wrong sides together. Place them on a table and, as much as you can, smooth out the fabric, from both sides, so both the top and bottom are evenly smooth.
Cut all edges straight (A rotary cutter works well for this) and cut off the selvage edges.
I like rounded corners and place a salad plate on the fabric, at the corner, and cut around that. If you prefer a square corner, that is fine.

Your blanket is now ready to bring to me or mail me, so that I can hemstitch the edge.

You can now crochet an edge on your own hemstitched blanket.  Some ideas for crochet edges are on my Instructions for Crochet Edges page.  Click on this at the top of this page.
